A smash burger pop-up that later transformed into full-fledged restaurant is in the final stages of putting together its second location.
Bub’s Burgers announced Tuesday that it’s just days away from opening its “Grab & Go” Uptown New Orleans location, housed at 5031 Freret St.
Starting Sept. 6, Bub’s hit smash burger patties will be hitting the grill, ready to serve the hungry masses that descend upon Freret.
One of Bub’s founding partners, Tristan Moreau, told The Times-Picayune that this location’s menu will be familiar to the patrons of the Mid-City location, but slightly condensed.
“It’ll be quick, takeout, affordable — that’s our thing,” Moreau said in April.
The condensed menu will retain five of its classic burger options and three side options.
The Lil’ Bubs and sandwich menus will also remain the same at the new location, and, of course, there will still be a puppy patty for four-legged patrons.
Burger options at the new location include: the Bub Burger, the Microdose, the Bub Royale, the Peanut Bubber and the Impossible Burger. The Uptown location will also offer fries, onion rings and Brussels sprouts.
The takeout spot’s new location has been home to multiple restaurants including Dat Dog, Liberty Cheesesteaks, Good Bird and, most recently, J’s Creole Wings.
