It was announced in April almost 100 Red Lobster locations across the US would close, and several of those were in Kentucky.
At the time, the restaurant chain was considering filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. They officially filed on May 19. Now, the company is announcing more closures.
Here’s what we know.
Red Lobster has had to shutter at least 129 locations across the U.S., so far. They have added to their list of closures twice now.

No new closings were announced as part of the latest announcement. Previously, it was announced that these locations in Kentucky would close:
- Elizabethtown: 2020 N Dixie Ave.
- Florence: 7921 Dream Street
- Lexington: 2550 Nicholasville Road and 1848 Alysheba Way
- Louisville: 4639 Outer Loop
- Owensboro: 3410 Frederica Street
- Paducah: 5151 Hinkleville Road
- Richmond: 828 Eastern Bypass
- St. Matthews: 986 Breckenridge Lane
The main cause of the bankruptcy was their all-you-can-eat shrimp deal and a 30% drop in guests since 2019, the company cited in court filings.
