If you are planning a trip to Costco in New Orleans this week to pick up a rotisserie chicken, you may want to change your plan.
I’m new to the New Orleans area and joined the members-only warehouse late last year when I moved to the Central Business District.
I’m a single person, and it doesn’t make sense for me to buy a lot in bulk, but there are certain deals at Costco to me that are worth the cost of the membership.
And the best deal to me, by far, is the $5 rotisserie chicken that’s gone viral on TiKTok.
I’m not the best cook, and the fresh, hot chicken is my go-to for versatile meals on the go. I sometimes buy two or three at a time, one to eat savagely in the parking lot and the others to make easy recipes or wraps.
I made a trip to Costco on Dublin Street Wednesday night with a grocery list in tow. To my dismay, the light on the display case was off where the delicious rotisserie chickens live until they are chosen by hungry customers.
After I counted to 10 and finished my shopping, I decided to do my due diligence to inform you, the public, on what’s going on and when you can get a rotisserie chicken again.
A Costco employee told me Thursday morning that the deli in the New Orleans store is being renovated, and rotisserie chickens will not be available for about a week. He suggested calling back next week and checking before returning.
Don’t fret too much, though — most other grocery stores in the area, including Breaux Mart, Rouses, Walmart, Robert’s Fresh Market and Winn-Dixie, normally carry rotisserie chickens if you need one sooner rather than later.
