Glen Powell has been on everybody’s radar. Since he first starred in “Spy Kids 3: Game Over,” the actor/producer/writer has gained traction as Hollywood’s newest heartthrob after starring in “Anyone But You,” “Top Gun: Maverick,” and recently, the blockbuster hit, “Twisters.”

But the star isn’t letting this newfound fame go to his head. Powell loves to talk about growing up in Texas—and what some of his favorite Southern-inspired treats are, including Texas-born Blue Bell ice cream.

Celebrities, they really are just like us. During his press tour to promote the film “Hit Man” with Adria Arjona, the pair joined the First We Feast show “Snacked” to reveal their favorite treats. Arjona shared her go-tos—tostones and arepas, and Powell showcased a Southern delicacy: Blue Bell ice cream and Butterfinger.

“[I’m] obsessed with Butterfinger,” Powell says. Arjona shares her agreement, but adds that the rest of the world might not adore the candy as much as the duo.

“A lot of people find that to be a niche thing, liking Butterfinger,” Arjona replies.

Powell prepares his cheat day treat by crushing Butterfinger into bite-sized pieces. Then, he scoops Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla ice cream into a bowl and tops it with the Butterfinger crumbles. And that’s it! Powell reveals that he gets his ice cream appreciation from beloved Austin, Texas-based ice cream joint Amy’s Ice Creams and the Brenham, Texas-born Blue Bell.

“I have, like, an emotional connection to Blue Bell,” Powell said. “This is the official ice cream of Texas. The best part about it is they always say that it’s so good that the drivers eat it and I would always see the drivers of the Blue Bell ice cream truck always eating it outside my school.”

But what’s even more interesting is that Powell is actually lactose intolerant, so the fact that this is his favorite treat proves how much he’s just like the rest of us. In an interview with “Men’s Health,” Powell shares the contents of his fridge, explaining that he and dairy aren’t on the best terms.

“As a kid, [I] was never good with milk,” he says. “You’ll never see cheese in my fridge. But I’m a big ice cream guy. If I’m going to cheat, ice cream is my move. That’s the quickest way to my heart.”
